Instructions

Step 1

Compositions is shown above. The most inexpensive method is to use painted pine boards. A Pine shelf top in a 1×12 width will be stronger, but a MDF top should be fine. To use MDF, cut your 3/4″ MDF into 11 1/2″ wide strips as shown in this post, to create your own 1x12s.

Step 2

Cut out Sides. As shown above, use a round edge to cutout the sides of the bridge. It is recommended to do one sides, and then use the completed side as your pattern for the opposite side. If you are building the scalloped hutches, you may wish to save this pattern to do the hutch sides too. Use a jigsaw and sand the finished cut.

Step 3

Cut out Front Trim. Mark the front trim as shown above. Cut out with a jigsaw. Sand the edges smooth.

Step 4

Bottom, Back and Front. Attach the back and front pieces as shown here. Use glue and fasteners as shown above.

Hi- I absolutely LOVE the plans you put up for the Madeline changing system based off the PBKids system. They are *awesome*! My husband is thinking about using them- but I am trying to check out the upper side shelves plans, but the link to them seems to be broken. It's the third link on the Madeline system page, I believe. I know you posted these nearly two years ago, but if you still have these plans somewhere, would it be possible to try to fix that link, please? We are so excited to start this project! Thanks so much.
