I used this for my son's dresser without primer and it really stuck well to the poplar wood. I was going for a gloss, but the gloss came out more like a semigloss or satin. Then for my farmhouse bed I wanted a high gloss again, so I primed and bought a gloss paint from Behr. Again, looks satin.
Short of dropping 50$ on a gallon of sherwin Williams to get a for sure gloss finish, does anyone have a positive experience with a mid grade paint which is a little more affordable? Or is it just the way latex is going as they remove the VOCs from it and make it safer...
I'm not too upset with the finishes thus far, they still clean off very well.
