Cutting 3/4" plywood versus 1x pine

Is plywood a lot tougher to cut with a circular saw?  I ask because I'm making the rolling cubby bench, and since I had a huge amount of plywood on hand already (cut into 11 1/2" widths) I used that instead of buying 1x12 and adjusting the measurements to reflect the 11 1/4" 1x12 last night.  It seemed like the saw had a harder time with it than when I've done just regular old pine.

The saw is fairly new, I've used it to make a console table, a rolling crate cart, and a set of 10$ ledges (instead of making 1 8' ledge with no cuts, I made a 6' and a 2'.  I need to make the other pair soon ;) ).  So I'd be surprised if the saw blade was crazy dull already.  But maybe I'm expecting too much out it?

It's definitely harder to cut. Slow down and don't push hard on the blade.

Thanks!  I did some 1x trim pieces tonight and they were like butter after that plywood ;)

I'm at the 'throw everything away and never look at another project again' stage of my bench.  So annoyed with it.  It seems the plywood had a very slight bow in it (unrelated to the other post I had a bit ago about straightening out wood, ha!) which I didn't notice.  Until I went to put the trim on just now.  I have no idea if I'll need to start over entirely, I have it weighted down in the middle inside the warm house, so we'll see what happens :(

I lied...It turns out the trim piece was crappy.  I grabbed another piece and it fit totally fine ;)  Ignore my dramatics!
