PLAN: Raised Pet Feeder for Cats and Small Dogs

Submitted by melissa2 on Fri, 01/14/2011 - 18:34

I've wanted a raised pet feeder for years, but they are SO expensive ($100-150 for the really nice ones–and the less expensive ones are often MDF). If there's one thing Ana White has taught all of us here, if you want something . . . you can make it yourself! :) I don't use Sketchup and don't have a nice camera, but put the plans on the web:

Mine isn't stained and varnished yet, but I wanted to get the plans online right away for anyone who may want one, too. Smile

The cost (if you have the basics like stain and varnish, and find spindles for as little as I did–$2 each!) can be as little as $20. Plus you can customize the height for your specific pet.

Have fun!

I'd love to see your feeder melissa2 but for some reason your site won't load for me.

I double-checked the site–it's working okay on IE and Firefox. If you end up not being able to see it, the style is like a table with 1 x 2 stretchers, turned legs (there's an easy and inexpensive "cheat" for them), and inset stainless steel bowls.

It has been really fun to see pet-themed projects! :)
