I basically know how to resize a component (double-click the component > measure edge to edge with tape measure tool > enter new measurement > accept change), but it seems SketchUp is adjusting both sides, like to be proportionate even when I only want one side to be changed (like adding an extra inch length to one end or something). Am I doing something wrong or is there a setting that needs to be checked to make it stop that? Thanks in advance!
Look for a setting called "Stretch both sides" or "scale both sides" (I don't know exactly what they will call it).
Turn that OFF and you should stop having both sides grow or shrink when you drag one.
That sounds like what I'm looking for, but I can't find that setting to change anywhere. Preferences was my first thought, but I couldn't find it there. ![]()
I think I found it. It's the cubes, and which one you select to drag.
click on the component, click s (on the keyboard), and 14 small cubes connected by lines should appear.
Click on a corner cube and drag to resize the whole
model
Click on top or side ones to resize that axis
and the edge ones to resize
2 axis
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! ![]()
Ok...I am not a math whiz.....I found a pattern for a piece of doll furniture that I want to make. It is in 1 inch scale. I want to change it to fit an American Girl doll which is 18 inches or 1:3 scale. How do I do that? Can I just enlarge the pattern on a photocopier by a certain percentage?
Thanks!
