About This Project

From Plan (new):
Estimated Cost:
FOR FREE
Estimated Time Investment:
An Hour or Two (0-2 Hours)
Required Skill Level:
Starter Project
Type of Wood:
Reclaimed pallet wood
Finish Used:
I made my own version of milk paint and stain and stenciled a bird I drew, then heavy sanding to create the, "old look". I have tons of pallets, my neighbors are always dropping them off at my house, my RV pad is a WRECK from all sorts of old wood, and pallets. I love it, but I am looking like a hoarder, I.AM.NOT! I also made this table out of an old shutter my neighbor dropped off for me, I took it apart, and that was the hardest part, other than the sanding... so much sanding! I finally got out the belt sander, which I really try not to use. The table is not quite finished, it's still wet in the pics, and not attached, I am painting the bottom white, and adding one more coat of stain on the table top. My number one rule, sand, sand, sand!

Nice job ... I love the

Nice job ... I love the reclaimed wood!  What plan did you use for the table?

Thanks! I didn't use plans

Thanks! I didn't use plans for the table, I built around the shutter pieces, and then just built as I went. I added
trim around the side apron to for texture, and under the bottom shelf is a brace. I can't figure out sketchup, so I just look at pictures, and try to figure it out.

Love the design method

Glad I'm not the only lone lunatic who designs by the "what have I got" method.
