Finishes

They're actually listed at the bottom of the description.  Or were you looking for more details about their application?

Thanks :0)

I used Minwax Dark Walnut stain and glossy polyeurethane for table top & shelves and just white paint for base part of table.

Just built this..

but Im finding that the base almost makes it hard to push the chairs in. I see on the sides you have a pretty good over hang. is it the same over hang all the way around? or are some side longer then the others. Im building this to fit with a nook and chairs.

Yes its the same over hang on

Yes its the same over hang on all sides. Its only a foot and the chairs dont completely tuck under but they tuck in nicely. My base is bigger than Ana's plans. I made the base 25.5" x 25.5" x 28" (with feet) I would have made the over hang larger but when I built it the dining area in the house we were living in at the time wasnt big enough to go any bigger.

I LOVE this. Can you please tell me where to find the plans? I've searched for them, but can't find them.

Awesome Job!!

I love your table. I have

I love your table. I have been trying to find a table that is regular dining height and is 60" x 60" square with a pedestal base and they are all so expensive. A few questions...is the table fairly sturdy and what is the size of the base and table top. Thanks so much. You did a great job.

Thanks!

Yes it seems to be very sturdy! My 3 & 2 year old daughters are always climbing all over it and its still standing! LOL I did add some L brackets to top of the base to stabilize it even more. The base measures 25.5" x 25.5" x 28" It worked out perfect because I really wanted to avoid having to cut my shelf pieces for the base bc all I had at the time was a circular saw (and I knew I wouldnt be able to cut a straight line lol) so at Lowes they have pre-cut birch (I think) pieces that measure 24"x24"x3/4". So I didnt have to cut that & just added my 1x2s & 1x3s. Now for the top I wouldnt recommed what I used bc crumbs stay in the cracks. If I were to build top again I would just use 1x4s or bigger. I used tounge and groove boards...I probably could have put some woodfiller in the cracks bf I stained it and the crumbs wouldnt be an issue. My top is only 50"x50" but I think the base would still be substantial enough to hold 60"x60" top. And the over hang would probably be a little better too. My overhang is only about a foot i think...so chairs dont go completely under table (didnt really have to option to make it bigger bc of the space at our previous house). Anyways I feel like Im babbling :)Hope this helps! And happy building!
