About This Project

furring strips

This was admittedly a little harder than I thought.  The first one turned out short of perfection trying to get things looking great.  The second one was better using a level and being more careful.  However, the fact that my nail gun totally went out halfway through made the project a long one.  But my kids LOVE them and they look so cute and luxurious out in my grass.  I love it.

Required Skill Level:
Estimated Time Investment:
Afternoon Project (3-6 Hours)
Finish Used:
off white paint and poly
Estimated Cost:

I made my first adult sized one this week, the next one I'm making is a kid sized for a friend. These turned out great. Did you paint prior to assembling?

I used a paint sprayer actually which works great.  However the kids chairs and table I made before I painted after.  And I would recommend painting first.  I had to go in with this tiny little brush to do in between the slats.  It looked funny not painted.
