10.00 for screws and the potting bin
Estimated Time Investment:
Day Project (6-9 Hours)
Required Skill Level:
Beginner
Type of Wood:
reclaimed pine siding

This looks great!  I really like the reclaimed-wood.  Wish I had a place to put one!

Potting Table

Diane,

You did a wonderful job on your potting table, keep up the good work. Your finish is what I would like to have but I don't have the reclaimed wood.

I read somewhere to put steel wool or rusty nails in a container with vinegar,I think. Leave it there for a week and brush on wood, it's supposed to make it look weathered.

I'm making a potting table to put in my kitchen. It's going to be my baking station. I haven't decided what to use for a counter top, maybe you ladies(or gents) can come up with some great ideas.

Love you all, Pam A.

Potting Bench/Bakers Rack

What about getting a few different (interchangeable) tops that measure 1/2 the top of your bench?  I am thinking you put these over the boards.  You might be able to get scrap granite or other solid surface counter top cut to size at a reasonable rate.  Stainless steel, butcherblock, marble or other cutting board/kitchen surfaces.  That way you can bake with marble, put hot pans on granite or steel and cut on buthcher block.  If they are made for 1/2 the surface, you always have a multipurpose station. And when it comes to serving/entertaining, you can pick and choose or go back to the regular slat top.

pull down potter's table

I was wondering if you had ever seen a hanging potter's table. I REALLY thought I had at one time and now, try as I may, I cannot find it anywhere!!! I have limited space and would LOVE to build one.
Thanks, your site is AMAZING!!

Materials

That is cool. I am starting one this weekend out of recycled fence pickets (free and "pre-weathered" hah hah ).

I like the L shaped legs, I've already experimented with that and they are plenty strong enough for this and you don't have to buy 2x materials if you have pickets already.
