About This Project

I really really wanted a farmhouse table...but...we had a space that needed a square table AND I needed to fit 8-12 people (or more!) so we modified Ana's farmhouse table plans to not only be square, but really big as well. This table is 6 ft on each side. Since the table itself was so big, we reversed the breadboard ends and used a 2x4 on 2 ends just to even out the size a bit since is not rectangular...and the area is quite small but needed a big table. I didnt want it to be completely out of proportion. We did not use a stretcher because of the square factor, but each leg is a 4x4 post and reinforced underneath. It's HEAVY. It won't be moved anytime soon! I'm loving it:)

Ah-mazing!

I love your table and can't wait to start building ours. I'm still not sure if we're going to go with rectangle or square--do you happen to know the dimensions of your table? I how you have your chairs (2 at each opening) and I'm wondering if we have room for that. I'm going to go tape out a square table and measure it and I'd love to see how it compares to the size of yours.

I love your table. How did you get the thin groove between each plank of wood on the table top so that it was not flush like the rest of the tables made with this plan?

I think it adds tremendous character to the table. I would appreciate if you could share how you got this effect.

Would love a how-to on this table, especially measurements. I like the taller look of the table and i'm guessing you just found chairs to go with it. Pictures of the underside would be great too.

i think this is the plan! I wanted a square table due to room shape/size. I plan on doing 5x5 instead. any specific measurements would be a big help. thanks
