I'll be building a farmhouse table in a couple months when we move and I'm collecting tools now. I was given an air powered random orbital sander for Christmas and am wondering if I should return it and get a good belt sander instead to work on the table top. Thoughts? Thanks!

Random Orbital

The random orbital is pretty good, and I'd stick with it. It you want to make the top really smooth and level a jointer plane is your best bet, but it's probably overkill unless you're going to be doing large panel glue ups.
