Before and After

I've included a picture of what the area looked like before building my Ana piece, a total mess, and after, looks like HGTV was here :)! This is Piece 2 of 6, for my own "built in's" aka Entertainment Center. The biggest compliments I've recieved, "where'd you buy this, it's amazing!" "Is this black top granite?" As with all of Ana's plans, very easy to follow, and as long as you check for square after each step, sand to smoothness, and really pay attention to detail, you can have one too!
Modifications: Top is stained 3 coats of Black gloss, and Polyurethaned, 32 inches wide, 24 inches deep,33 inches tall... beadboard inlay for doors,, I actually routered this myself to drop in the beadboard fronts, after many trials and errors, :( I almost nailed the beadboard on, but ended up sticking to it, and so glad I did. The results are amazing. Doors are framed by 1x3's, Kregged together. I used 2 inch Narrow utility hinges. Tried the more expensive hinges, no difference in this project so I went with the cheaper hinge and you know what? Love it!! 1x4 bracing x2 along the back, so sturdy, these are used to screw into the wall studs. The whole piece is extremely sturdy, and roomy...wow, both pieces hold 1245 DVD's, my sewing machine and I have 2 open shelves on the hutch for display. Amazing, Ana's plans are always easy to follow, and if you get stuck, you can always get instant help on Facebook. If you're thinking about making and Entertainment center, stop thinking, get up and start building, this one, It's beautiful, durable, and great extra storage
