Cut plywood with a circular saw video

PDF versionPDF version

A year ago I was anxious to get started building with Ana's plans, but was devastated when getting my wood cut at the store didn't work out so well. We don't own a table saw and I was scared to use my husband's circular saw, but determined that I was going to build furniture for our home. It took me about 2 weeks to get up the nerve to tackle cutting my own plywood, but I did it and now nothing can stop me!

This video is to show other women (or men?) that it isn't hard to do this yourself. Circular saws are relatively inexpensive, building the guides is pretty cheap, and the "table" you cut on are 2x4s.

Here's the video:

Everything I learned about this was a result of the forums on this website. I am eternally grateful to all the members of this community who answered my endless questions! Thank you all so much. Hopefully I am giving someone else the confidence to do this, just as they did for me. Otherwise I am just embarrassing myself in steel toe boots and shorts...

I thought it did a very good job of showing the major types of cuts that you're likely to do with a circular saw. Also, digging the shorts and steel toes fashion statement. So I know I'm not the only one.

I appreciate your doing this video and have bookmarked it. Cutting plywood with a circular saw is one of my most unfavorite things in the world but I think your system will work MUCH better than my unstable table method! Thanks!

OMG, thank you from the bottom of my heart for this. I have been wanting Ana to do something like this for a long time. It is one of my biggest hangups. Thank you so much!
