Did you find colors that you love?
Disclosure: I have partnered with Glidden/Akzo Nobel Paints to develop this post and content residing on the MyColortopia Site. Thanks Glidden!
Hi everyone!
These last few months, I have been working with Glidden Paints to help create MyColortopia, a online information center to help us all out long before we visit the oh-so-awesome-but-intimidating paint aisle.

I've really enjoyed being part of the MyColorTopia site, and have learned tons from both the other bloggers (bet you know many of them!) and being challenged to create posts not ordinary for me. I tell you, this design and color stuff is much more scary than a saw!

For example, I wrote this post on 7 Steps to Blend Colors Between Rooms.
Today, Glidden has asked me a very simple question, and wanted me to share the answer with you on my own blog. You can follow along and answer the question as well.
Question: Where do you find inspiration?
Answer: Everywhere
Yep, that's it. I can find inspiration everywhere. You just have to have your eyes open and an appreciation for color and color combinations.

Am I strange for thinking a crate of pears at a farmer's market could be a beautiful color scheme for a home? Can you see light wood floors, pear colored walls, with an occasional gold or rich red accent, with some chalkboard black furniture?
On second thought, wouldn't a rustic red coffee table be gorgeous?

Of all the things that inspired me, nature is what makes my jaw hurt the most. We do live in jaw dropping Alaska! I love the blues and greens in this photos, made more interesting and memorable with the unexpected yellow.

But home design inspiration can come from the most unexpected sources as well. Take these cupcakes, what sweet little baby girl wouldn't love a nursery in these color combinations?
For me, it's about keeping my eyes open and taking the time to appreciate my surroundings.
Some people are drawn to bright colors, others to shades of blue. If there' a trend that's in right now, it's about having what you want for your family and lifestyle. There's no perfect green, no must have shade of blue. Your home should be about the people who occupy and appreciate it.
Glidden has created a fun and quick little survey that you can take to discover some colors that may fit your personality. I did the quiz and was surprised at how many colors I loved from their suggestions.

I stumbled on the site
I stumbled on the site (colortopia) some time in the past few days while I was pinterest trolling, and was pleasantly surprised to see your picture on the sidebar as a contributor. I did the little quiz and it truly was like a fortune teller; it picked some great colors that I am drawn to.
So, since I didn't trust this color quiz ju-ju, I did it again and again, going with different answers to mix up my profile a bit, and guess what? Same thing- more awesome colors that I like. It does a good job of pairing complimentary tones and it was fun too.
