trying to figure things out

Hi there,
I am new to building and this site, and it is very helpful, but I haven't started building and I am already frustrated. This website is really difficult to navigate. First, in the "getting started" section, she refers to the "how to" section - which does not seem to exist. Anyone know where that is? And there doesn't seem to be any way to search the forums. Also, some things that you would think are pretty critical are not present in the plans, like how to attach supports for a table. (like, with what? screws? where? how?)
