Are you proud of me?
I am so proud of myself.
I. Made. It. 11 Days.
Without seeing my daughter!
It has been the longest hardest 11 days, and last night, for the first time, my sweet little girl said, "Mommy, I miss you ..." We have been gone too long.
But tomorrow there's going to be lots of hugs and kisses and maybe even a few tears. I am counting down the hours, like a child on Christmas Eve. I cannot wait to see my daughter!
Now there is not many reasons I would leave my family and home in Alaska for this long, but I am very thankful to have had a chance to meet many of you while on book tour. It has been a great experience so far! Thank you for everyone who has come out, I love you for taking your time out of your busy schedule to stop buy and say hi.
But it's not quite over yet!
Tonight from 6-8PM I am doing a building demo and book signing with free books with $20 purchase while supplies last at the Home Depot on 1232 W North Ave in Chicago. And tomorrow, we'll be at the Tukwila Home Depot near Seattle from 6-8PM.
I hope to see you there!
And for those of you who can't make a signing, we wanted to do something fun for you too! On top of all the giveaways already going on - hey, I did try to NOT give away everything for free! - there's one more!

Thank you Ana for the giveaways! They are awesome to think about the possibility to win some great prizes. I'm also glad that you get to do a book tour! The closest tour stop for me is in Tukwila and guess what... my husband (who is back to driving truck) is going to be in Auburn (just 14 miles south of the HD location) ON the day you'll be there but won't be there at the same time. I told him that if he loved me (yes, I did just go there) he'd stick around and get me an autograph from the Amazing Ms. Ana White! It didn't work but hopefully you'll be able to add some more stops later on. If it was a day later, I'd be able to go up and see you. Oh well. Hugs to you on missing your daughter, I'm sure your reunion will be a sweet one!
am currently teaching a class and part of the curriculum involves this subject matter. Do you have any other posts I can look at regarding this?

Good job making it that long without your baby. I know how tough that is, having two beautiful girls myself. I'm excited to get to meet you at the Tukwila signing tomorrow. :)
It was great meeting you today in Chicago. I can't wait to get into our new home and start building! With my soon-to-be-had Kreg Jig, of course. I knew from reading on here that building could be easy, but seeing your demonstration in person gives me much more confidence. We're not taking any furniture with us on our move across the country, so we have a lot of work (and fun!) ahead of us. Thank you so much for the inspiration!
Congratulations !! You are such an inspiration !! I am a recently retired kindergarten teacher with lots of time on my hands now. I have just started working with wood and so love your site. You made me realize I CAN DO IT TOO !! Well...beginner style. Thanks again for all you do and all you share .
I will bring my son and daughter to the Tukwila book signing tonight and you can keep them for the rest of your tour. :)
wish I lived closer to any of these tours. but thank you for such a fun giveaway on facebook! enjoy your special reunion with your daughter!!
...to get my hands on your book. Its exciting when you read a blog daily and then you get to see the writers succeed at, not only online, but in print also! Congrats!
I'm glad to hear you made it back home to your family. I know exactly how you feel, i just returned last week after being gone for 14 days, it was rough. I should be used to it because i was in the military and would leave for 4-6 months every 16 months and 2 week trips every couple months But this was the toughest for some odd reason, i kept my 2 boys home from school the next day? And congrats on the book and book tour. I hope you are able to make it around my neck of the woods next time.
The program is designed under the same model as new homes built for Habitat families where the veteran will repay the zero interest loan necessary for these repairs, which is then deposited into a revolving fund to assist additional families in need of decent housing.
