Downdraft Table or similar

How do other people deal with sanding? It's cold here, so I can't exactly take my project outside and sand away. I do all of my sanding in my garage and am sick of the dust all over everything. I've heard of downdraft tables, but they're not too cheap at all. Does anyone have any suggestions or plans for a functional downdraft table?
