From Grace ....

It can't tell you how thankful we are to have had your help selecting the paint colors. We love the colors, they are perfect for the space!

Now the last time you saw the Momplex, it just had a first coat of mud on.

Paint on the Walls!

After the mud dries, it's far from perfect.

Paint on the Walls!

Now when I think of a drywall sander, I think a old school flat mop looking device. I guess you could call this the "Dyson" of drywall sanders.

Paint on the Walls!

Not only does it power sand, but it vacuums the sanding residue right off the wall!!!

Paint on the Walls!

Now that's what we are looking for!

Paint on the Walls!

Time for primer!

Paint on the Walls!

The primer gets sprayed on over the mud and drywall.

Paint on the Walls!

And Pete backrolls the primer on just to make sure the coat is evenly applied.

Paint on the Walls!

Of course the windows are all taped off.

Then Pete applied texture to the walls and ceiling.

I personally felt like Pete did such an amazing job on the finishing that texture wasn't even needed, but Pete recommended a very light texture.

It's perfect.

And I can't believe this, but finally, it's time to pick the paint up!!!

I've been pretty sick, so it is no exaggeration how helpful it was to have you pick the paint colors out.  The two top colors, Polished Gray and Autumn Harvest, were so close in votes, we decided to do one unit in each.

But when I went to the paint counter, there was no Polished Gray paint swatch.  The paint counter spent about half an hour digging through brochures and books trying to show me a sample swatch of Polished Gray.

No such luck.

So what to do?  Pick another color, or trust my readers and order up ten gallons without seeing a sample swatch in person?

Paint on the Walls!

Of course I trusted you - you've never let us down, and you've got great taste!

We LOVE LOVE LOVE the Polished Gray. The Ram loves it. I love it. It is the most perfect light gray ever.

Thank you, thank you for helping us select the colors.

Paint on the Walls!

Here is the living room, isn't that gray beautiful?

Paint on the Walls!

With Pete done, we were so excited to get back to work on the Momplex. The Ram immediately started ripping up the protective paper on the floor.

Paint on the Walls!

This guy's looking pretty ready to change a few thousand diapers, isn't he?

So where should we start working now???? Bathrooms, kitchens, closets, decks???

It's going to be fun!

OMG! Cutest video ever! How

OMG! Cutest video ever!

How nice to have that dusty job out of the way! I think hiring a drywall guy was the best decision. Now for the fun part!

That really is a perfect gray!

How awesome (and your bump is soooo cute!)! I'd say to start in the bathrooms for comfort's sake, then the kitchen so that you won't have to leave for meals ;-) It just seems like it'll get done faster this way.
This is such an exciting step! Thanks for sharing!!!

bathroom next!

You will be so thankful to have the bathrooms done (at least the toilet and sink) all plumbed in while you work on the rest of the place.
BTW, you look so cute, not sick at all. Isn't it amazing how fast your body kicks into the 2nd pregnancy? Like your body says, "You are pregnant? Okay, we remember this. Let's get you showing right away!" :)

windows & drywall

Bathroom first...I think this will save "the Ram" some time taking care of business if you know what I mean...make sure the exhaust fans are installed!! JK.

I am curious how you are going to finish out the windows? I figure marble or wood for the sill, but what about the sides and top. Perhaps all wood? In my neck of the woods (Oklahoma), usually the windows have drywall on the sides and top and wood or marble for the sill. Thank you for sharing your projects with us!!
