I got a lot of pre-finished shelves that i want to use to furnish my new apartment. I have a few projects on my to-do list but want to check with the forum members on the pros and cons of using the shelves to make furniture.
The shelves are very light (3/4" x 11 1/4" x 72").
Can i cut them using a jig saw or do i need to use them in standard size?
Is it okay to use these shelves and pine boards 1x2, 1x3, 2x2 in the plans?
What type of screws should i use to join the shelves together or with pine boards?

I've never heard of shelving that is only 1/4 inch by 3/4 inch. That seems hardly useful for anything?
