Hello!
I live in Toronto, Ontario and I am looking for advice on staining a Pine hutch a darker colour, similar to the esspresso bench Ana posted! I can stain it in my parents garage (otherwise I live in an apartment and I'd have to stain in my apartment). It is just November now, should I have any concerns about it being cold outside? The temp this week has been around 6-13 degrees outside.

read the instructions on the bottle as it should indicate ideal temps. I would suggest staining inside where it is warmer, but if you choose the garage, you should be ok, just have to wait 3 times longer for the finish to cure.

Another option would be to search for a low VOC stain so that it's not so stinky if you decide to work indoors. If you can't find one locally, there are online stores that will ship. Fuhr wiping stain is one of my favorites.
