I needed a console table for an area by our front door. The plan as written was too long, so I adjusted the length to 42". I also needed it to hold books and files, so I adjusted the shelf heights, changing the overall height to 32".

Finish Used
I used Rustoleum Dark Walnut on the top with 3 coats of Minwax Polyurethane. For the base, I made chalk paint following the recipe on Lowes.com. For the paint color, I used a quart of Clark Kensington (from Ace) Spiced Paprika flat. I put 3 coats of satin poly on the shelves only.
