Outdoor Storage Box

I built this to go with my outdoor sectional. It's perfect for storing the cushions and the gardening tools that I like to keep on the porch. It doubles as a table and extra seating in a pinch, so it's a great addition to the space.

I'd recommend either spray painting it or pre-painting the pieces- I wouldn't want to try and brush between all the slats.

Started with simple small trestle desk idea. Decided to edge glue the top. Finished with poly and paste wax. Didn’t turn out too bad for the first project.

Farmhouse Bed and Night Tables

Submitted by frmoody on Tue, 10/01/2019 - 18:44

A friend of mine wanted a new queen bed in a rustic, weather grey look. I have built many projects from Ana's site and decided on the Farmhouse Bed. The plans were perfect and building the bed didn't take me long. The time consuming part was the finish. I really wanted an old, weather wood look so the entire bed and night tables were first stained with a dark Kona stain. Once this dried I applied two coats of a watered down (50:50) light grey paint. The thinner paint made it easier to sand. Once this was completely dry I used a medium grit sanding sponge and selectively sanded everything. This took a while. Once complete I carefully cleaned all pieces and then applied three coat of semi-gloss varathane. The bed is incredibly solid with the 2 x 4 slats and will last a few generations. As always great plans from Ana.

Rustic Farmhouse Vanity

Submitted by jameslee on Thu, 10/10/2019 - 16:23

My master bathroom was my first DIY remodel. I took this room down to the studs and built it back up. I struggled to find the perfect vanity that felt strong and sturdy and could not find one. I needed a wide vanity to accommodate this 3 foot wide vessel sink. I found Ana White and this plan online and fell in love! This was my first build and I’ve become addicted to wood working since. As my first build, this took me most of a day to build and assemble drawers. Sanded and painted with a flat finish! I love it! Thank you Ana!

Day Project (6-9 Hours)

General Finishes milk paint in Seagull Gray with a high performance flat finish. Hardware and sink found on Amazon.

Round Pedestal Table

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Fri, 07/21/2023 - 10:46

Built this for my wife for our anniversary. Plans for the table was easy to follow. Used poplar for the table top. I copied the chairs from our large dining room table that we purchased so the two sets would match. I’m an Ana White follower looking forward using more plans. I used a jig saw to cut the circular table top instead of the skill saw using a fence.

Pallet Reclaim Swing

I work for a large manufacturing company that frequently has 'desirable trash'. Found 3 beautiful, heavy-duty pallets with beautiful wood on them. Took them home, took them apart, and got to work. The wife had been wanting a swing out near our children's playset so she could sit and watch them. Used Kreg pocket holes for everything that I could so as to hide as much hardware as possible.

*Side note regarding why I did the rope the way I did - the original post had mentions of it being a bit tipsy (particularly with little ones!). With this design, there's no flip front or back and the rope only gets tighter the more weight that is applied.

Almost free, only had to pay ~$30 for the rope.

Farmhouse Bed - Standard King Size

Really loved these plans and they produced a beautiful product.  The only minor change I'd make is to double the number of support slats.  Our Casper mattress requires gaps less than 3" between each slat.  Thank you for the plans!

Doll bunk beds

Submitted by anm8ed on Sat, 06/06/2020 - 19:12

I altered it a little bit since I could not find a 1x1 anywhere near me. I used a square dowel and I placed the ladder steps on the outside. The square dowel was a little big so i notched the right side. I also cut the left side of the ladder to not block the bottom. I may try a trundle later on. It’s not painted yet but she wants it a light pink. Maybe tomorrow we will do that.

Workbench with Drawers and Carts on Casters

Submitted by vendo on Tue, 03/19/2024 - 07:38

Using Ana's Ultimate Workbench Plan and her easy drawer method I built this. I decided to do storage carts that roll in and out for small scrap lumber storage. The Kreg Foreman got it's own cart, I made it so the deck of the machine was at the same height as the work surface. I added a drawer so all of my kreg bits and screws can be in one place. I had batteries and chargers laying all over my small shop, so I incorporated a battery charging drawer. I'm excited for the projects to come using my new set up!
