Custom Storage Bench

Storage bench using Shelf Help by Judith Noffz

"What can I say … we love Ana White’s Shelf Help Now.
We both love the quality of the wood. You just can’t find that around here. I love that I can create what’s in my mind with a drawing and rob can take her template and build!!!"

Washer Dryer Pedestals Bases

This pedestal base for the washer and dryer really created the perfect opportunity to organize and declutter our tiny laundry room. Had to resize it a bit to fit the space but it turned out perfect! I added a super easy top for an even counter space and bought some stock laundry room cabinets to sit in the back for extra storage. Such an upgrade!

Potting bench

My good friend asked me to build her a potting bench for her garden wedding reception. She shouted me a photo of one from the internet. I used your plan and made a couple modifications. This is the color she requested and I used Cabot solid stain. I’m not a fan of solid stain and won’t use it again. She loved it.

Slatted Sofa Table

Submitted by raybwright on Sat, 02/13/2016 - 09:36

I based this design of the simple Sofa Table by Jenna Sue. Instead of a 2x8 across the top, I opted to use 1x4s side by side. This slatted look matched some of the other items in the house and to allowed me to create two hinged sections. These sections allow for easy access to wall plugs and include small notch for the cables to come through.

I found the best app ever. "Tapeulator" If you are tape measure challenged like me you will love this app. For example: what is 8 3/8 - 6 1/2? It can be hard to figure out...just type it into the tapeulator and get your answer, it also shows the location of the answer on the measuring tape. I love it!
My husband gets so aggravated when I measure something and say it's 4 and 2 lines...lol. I really do know what the little lines are, it is just quicker for me. haha

A friend asked if I could make a potting bench for her. She wanted something simple, functional and attractive. My first thought led me to Anna’s site and I found these plans. My friend is so happy with the design and is over the moon with happiness. Thank you!

Media Cabinet Base of built-in

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Wed, 03/02/2016 - 11:21

First furniture project. It was a little intimidating - but once you get the cabinet squared everything else is just about precision cuts and patience to get the finish you want. Inset drawers are tough because they really show any mistakes.

Completed over 3 weekends.

My wife loves it! Our plan is to use this as the base of the built-in, and surround the TV with shelving up to the ceiling. Applying the concepts to this build will allow me to custom build the top unit, probably at some point next year.

Cheers!

My washer will shake on the metal pedestals. Will it shake on this one?

My husband just finished one similar to this for me today-total cost about $65.....Thank you for the fabulous & frugal idea!!

Dining Table and Chairs

This was my first table - I added extensions by notching out the end 2x4's and making extensions that slide into the pockets. There were a few mistakes I made that will be corrected when I build my next.
I modified the length of the table down to 5 feet long, but with the extensions in it goes up to 8'. The table is also 34" tall due to a giant husband and Great Dane. The chairs were likewise modified in height and I made the backs a bit fancier using 1x2's and a nail gun.

Week Long Project (20 Hours or More)
Finish Used
Chairs are painted and waxed, table is stained and polyurethaned. When I do my next table it will be waxed.

Wood Storage Box

Submitted by Joni on Sun, 03/18/2012 - 10:42

My wood scraps were definitely getting out of control, and I needed something to store the wood vertically. I had some spare wood (free from Craigslist), so I put together a wood storage bin. All in all, the project cost me the price of some Kreg screws.

Hey! Looks GREAT!!! I was curious how you made your doors. Did you attach thin plywood to the back, or slide it into the frame as an insert?

I was wondering how you attached the bookshelf unit to the base unit on the side cabinets?
Thank you!
