Our home improvement store didn't have non-pressure treated 4x4s so we screwed 2 2x4s together to make the posts. We chose not to put quarter round around the posts, but instead added baseboards to the front and side to finish it off. We're really happy with how it turned out.

I wanted to make a small memento box as an anniversary gift, and I used Ana's pirate treasure trunk as inspiration. My cuts are a bit different due to the scraps I had in my "shop", but I still used 1x4 and 1x6s. I loved the idea of the side brackets. They look good and add to the structural integrity of the box. Win-win. I also added a bit of dark red felt to the bottom of the box, which I think gives it a little bit of a fancier look.

My wife wanted a hutch to store her canner and supplies in. We searched online for hutches and Hoosier cabinets and they were anywhere from $1200-$2000!!. That's when I said "I can build that". I sat down and custom designed on CAD and started my build. I was able to find the butcher block top at Lowes for $50!!.  It took me about 3 weeks to build it in my spare time. I had to special order some of the hardware because I could not find what I wanted locally. I had a lot of fun building it. On to my next project!!

When the neighbors came over and looked at this, they thought it came from pottery barn. I knew it reminded me of something, but I couldn't put my finger on it. This picture is about 2 years after I made it.

This was my first large project. Built it in one very long day and then finished over a few weeks. Instead of 2x4's for legs I opted for a 4x4 post with a bolt running through. I didn't really want to figure out the square washer so I just went with standard round. I spray painted all of the hardware silver with Rust-Oleum Universal Hammered Spray paint to coordinate with the Tolix like chairs I purchased from Restoration Hardware.

I needed to transform my balcony in Australia into an outdoor oasis! I used Ana's plans for the outdoor sofa and modified them to make it a sectional. I converted into metric measurements and modified these to fit some pre-purchased cushions. The coffee table is made from a pallet and cinder blocks. The coffee table can be transformed into a dining table (with bench style lounge dining seats) by adding another 2 cinder blocks under the table. The table also perfectly fits into the space in front of the sofa and is the exact right size to add two extra seat cushions on top to form a full double bed. We sometimes put the tv outside on warm nights, transform the sofa into the bed and create an outdoor cinema...

Helped to complete the patio

I made the kitchen from (reclaimed=free) veneered mdf. I modified the size to fit out our needs. My kids are 12,9,6,4. I am thrilled with how it turned out. My dimensions are as follows. fridge 18x18x48, stove and sink 18x18x31. I stained it barn red ($5 oops stain) and painted the fronts with white satin. I bought the faucet from our local re-store($5). The sink is a crock from goodwill ($4). I used european hinges to attach the fridge doors ($11). The hardware I found at target on clearance($13). Plexiglass was ($4)

I'm not sure that anyone would want to build this table, but I attached my plans made in PowerPoint here.

We have a 600 square foot apartment. We enter through our kitchen, so we wanted a dining table that did not take up much space visually or physically. The Squared2 Dining Chairs inspired the creation of our Squared2 Dining Table. We appreciate having it.

To cut down on cost, we purchased 1/8" plexiglass and cut to fit our table top.

My cousin and I fell in love with the farmhouse table so, when we discovered some old barn wood at my dad's house, we knew we had to build that table using the barnwood for the top.  I love each and every imperfection in the barn wood.  This was a fun project and I look forward to building another of Ana's plans.

First furniture project.  Storage table for my daughter and her husband.

Shopping for bedroom furniture, my spouse found a bed that was way more than we wanted to spend. After finding this site, and a bit of convincing he finally agreed to try building this. Now he wants to build everything! We now have a long "to do" list of plans we want to try.

Farmhouse table made from 100 year old wood. The wood was taken from a porch at my great grandmother's house in Vernon Parish, Louisiana.

We reworked the plans for the pottery barn inspired bed into a toddler sized version. Arms were added near the head to prevent our child falling out in the first year. They ended up being something of a hazard in those early days, as our child kept hitting her head. If we were to recreate it, we would make the arms go up higher or without the finished top. The bed also was not lifted off the ground in as great of a proportion to the original.

The pine is left untreated and unfinished. The only glue used was homemade milk glue.

Made a 4 foot version of the farmhouse bench. I also used 4x4s for the legs instead of 2x4s. They work great, just makes the bench a little heavy. 

Our first project

So I needed a bigger entry way table for our new house and this one fit my style and I love it! Mine is only 5.5' long so I did have to do some remeasuring. If you also need yours to be 5.5' my measurements were 5.5' for the top 2x6 pieces then the the two bottom shelves are 55" and the 12 (6 for front 6 for back) 2x2 pieces are 26". All of the other measurements stayed the same. Also I already had everything else besides wood so just the wood cost me $75.
