Instructions for KOW Project Photos in Signature

Submitted by ferbit on Mon, 09/13/2010 - 17:18

I don't know if everyone else is like me, but I LOVE knowing who makes which projects.  In case anyone else wants to add photos in your Ana-White KOW Community Profile signature (like I do to mine), here's how I did it.  I highlighted the two pieces of code in red and blue that are specific to YOUR projects.

You need to go to Ana's photo gallery and copy/paste a few things.  Just paste everything in Notepad so you can grab all of it easily in one place.  Right click on YOUR small "thumbnail images' in Ana's photo gallery and choose Properties…  copy the address location.  It's just a really long URL, ending in jpg.  Paste it into Notepad.  That address will go into the code below in RED.  Then CLICK on the thumbnail image and it will bring up the LARGE version…  right click on the LARGER image and copy its address location too.  Paste it into Notepad too.  That address will go into the code below in BLUE.  Keep doing this until you get all of your projects' hyperlinks into Notepad.  :)

Go to your Profile page and click <Setup Your Signature>

Click the HTML button and paste the following HTML code (everything written below that I've shown in italics):

<p style="font-size: 14px; text-align: left;"><strong>My KOW Projects:</strong></p>

<p style="text-align: left;">

     <a href="/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/25845_1412897487463_1383306990_1140359_3838618_n.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/25845_1412897487463_1383306990_1140359_3838618_n-125x125.jpg" alt="" width="125" height="125" /></a>

     <a href="/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/4521273983_9213cc4693.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/4521273983_9213cc4693-125x125.jpg" alt="" width="125" height="125" /></a>

     <a href="/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/StorageDaybed.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/StorageDaybed-125x125.jpg" alt="" width="125" height="125" /></a>

</p>

Add more or less <a href></a> tags until you have all of your KOW projects showing.  :)  Please let me know if you need any help with this.  I'm happy to help!

Hope this is helpful!!!!!

Jennifer

EDITING TO ADD:  Wordpress screws with my code a tad because I used carriage returns above to make it easier for everyone to read.  It inserts <br /> tags all over the place making your photos show up vertically down the page.  HTML isn't usually that colorful and well-spaced out.  :)  Once you're done updating your href and img links, remove the carriage returns in the code like this and leave just a single space between each ENDING </a> tag and the next beginning <a href...> tag, highlighted below in bold.

<p style="font-size: 14px; text-align: left;"><strong>My KOW Projects:</strong></p>

That's totally my fault!  Sorry!!!  WordPress took what I pasted above too literally.  It looks like it changed my code when I added the "pretty" carrriage returns to make it easier for everyone to read.   So it added <br /> tags all over the place.  Ooops!  Just edit your signature again and remove any offending <br /> tags in the HTML code.  I have a single SPACE between each of my photos (space is between the </a> <a href…> tags only).  Hope this helps!

Now, that is funny!  I know just enough html from the "old days" that I am dangerous.  I missed that too!

Thanks for getting me started on this!  I spent hours trying to figure out what went wrong!  LOL!!!

(now I'll hit post and see if it really is fixed! :) )
