Hi, I'm from Melbourne. Very new to the blog and new to DIY. I was going to send a shout out to fellow aussies re cost comparison of building some of these projects as it appears that timber and associated hardware and tools are. like everything, cheaper in the states! I did buy a factory refurbished Kreg Kit and saved about $100 so very happy with that. If your wanting one and need to know where in Aus to buy Carbatec is where I bought my refurbed one.

I really like the minwax stains that Ana uses. I know we can buy off the aus website but have to pay shipping fee and can't see colours up close and personal. Has anyone found a brand of stain and paints that they really like that is readily available in Australia?

I can't wait to get started too. I'm going to attempt the recycling console (p86 of Ana's book) and within the next year the farmhouse bed, and a coffee table. I also have a tiny house so will build for friends when I have finished my house (I should add I'm renting so there are some things I just can't do).

Cheers,

Michelle
