Pocket Holes

Hi, I'm new to DIY projects, and I'm trying to build one of the farm table projects. In the instructions, it notes that my pocket holes should all face "upwards". What does this mean? I have the kreg jig set, and I've watched videos on how to use it to make firm joints, but I'm not sure what making them "upwards" means.

With the Kreg jig you can only create the holes one way. I assume the plan is referring to the orientation of the board during assembly.  If you paste the link for the project here, I can say for sure.

What you're suggesting will work just fine for a painted table. Just make sure to countersink the screws into a straight hole, don't just sink them into a shallow cone shaped recess, the putty could pop out of place too easily.
