So, I'm hoping to undertake a new project where I create a butcher block island/ table. I want to buy the proper wood for a butcher block, and maybe I'm looking at the wrong sites, but the prices seem absolutely insane... like in the thousands for just the wood.
Help! I need help. What kind of wood should I buy for a DIY butcher block island? I want to be able to prep on it as well as use it as a kitchen table. Can I make a block myself?
