Thank you for posting this. It is SO different from anything we have here in Indiana. I wish I could take my kids here for a day.

My mouth is still open looking at the pictures! I want to slide! Yet another reason to visit Alaska and agreed, no one does it better than God!

Hi Ana! Is the same Ice Sculpture Show we'd visit while going to college in Fairbanks?? That was always so super neat! It is amazing how crazy creative and talented people are! I also liked getting the hot chocolate to stay warm. :)

Much as I love sunshine, I can't stop admiring and whishing I could see those up close.

Guess there is beauty in every place - and especially so, we find beauty in those things which are furthest from our day-to-day reality.

Guess the secret to being happy, is finding that underlying (and ultimately pure) beauty that lies in all things close to us.

I am so amaazed with your blog and a little bit jealous honestly, LOL this is such a great blog. I am also thinking about making a blog I like to write to about DIY products or beauty products in general. I am a former cosmetology who now suffers from illness and needs to be stay at home. So I want to earn while I am at home I think being online is great.

Wow! This really outdoes the winter ice festival in McCall, Idaho that we thought was so cool! And not only do you get to see them, you get to ride them! That looks like so much fun, but all I thought while looking at the pics was how easy it would be to knock out a tooth on that slide (the mom in me). A blood covered ice fest just doesn't have the same feel. haha.
Just like getting a pilot's license, I think you've got to have some fun. By the look on those girls' faces, they were having a blast! At least you forgot how cold it was for a little while :).
Pretty impressive artists you have up there. Oh, and I LOVE the warning sign. So politically correct. I have a small soap business and I have to put on all of my bars: Common Sense Caution: discontinue use if irritation occurs. What a shame that they have to post a sign that says "be careful, you could slip" at an ice festival. haha, you know there is some fool out there that would complain about slipping on ice at an ice rink.

Thanks for sharing - I had no idea how beautiful ice could be! Amazing - I loved the colorful clothing that you could see through the ice as the girls were sliding down. What a fun day...

Just found your site through Frills Fluff and Trucks... love the design plans and I'm so inspired!

Living in Tennessee for the last 30+ years has thinned my blood but that looks like it was a wonderful day with family. The ice sculptures are amazing and a lot more difficult than the igloos we made as kids in Buffalo, NY when I was growing up.
