Master Bathroom Remodel

We recently finished our master bathroom remodel, and thanks to Ana's plans we saved a lot of money being able to build the vanity ourselves.  We had a very tight budget for this semi-gut job, about $1500 for the entire bathroom.

We started by picking out exactly what we wanted and then tried to achieve that look with what we could afford.  We found a very large antique bread bowl at an antique store and my wife immediately thought it would be a beautiful storage container for towels in our new bathroom.  This began the search for the perfect vanity to fit the bread bowl.  She found one in a magazine that retailed for about $1200.  It was shortly after that I discovered Ana White and her amazing plans for building furniture.  We slightly modified the plans for the Farmhouse Kitchen Island and it worked perfectly.  I purchased the wood ($20) and vanity top ($100) at our local Habitat for Humanity ReStore.  The build went fairly quickly and wasn't all that difficult.  I really only struggled getting everything to fit "square" using all reclaimed wood.  Including the hardware and faucet, the vanity only cost about $200.

We have been very happy with our newly remodeled master bathroom.  I'm including a "before" picture.  It was aweful!

Then there are three "in process" photos of the vanity.  Notice my little helper in the background!  Adah was very curious about my hammer and she kept stacking her blocks on the bottom shelf.

I'm also including a photo of the recessed cabinet.  After Ana first started posting how much she loved her Kreg Jig, I asked for one for my birthday.  The cabinet door with the frosted glass inserts was my first Kreg Jig project and it worked perfectly!  I love working with the Kreg Jig. Thanks Ana!

Truly beautiful.   These look better than what you would find in a fancy store.  Love the finishing detail and bead board on both pieces. :)

Why does the slide change so quickly?

I can only look at a picture in full size for 3 seconds and then it changes to the next picture or totally closes because I'm at the last picture.

 Very bad design.

It should not move to the next slide unless I click it.

When you don't have enough money to renovate your home, the best solution is to do somethings on your own instead of buying those things. You did a great job with your limited budget, and the bathroom vanity looks awesome. I've started to renovate my bathroom too, but I already bought bathroom vanities with sink. And they are beautiful, I don't regret buying them, but I would have liked to build the vanities by myself.

I've just finished my house renovation and I am very satisfied with how it looks now. I still have to buy some furniture and also a vessel sink vanity. I found something interesting and fancy at a very good price and I am thinking to buy them. I want my house to look just like the ones in magazines.
