Full size playhouse loft bed created using the playhouse loft bed plans and playhouse loft bed with storage stairs plan, modified for full size and a few other tweaks.
In addition to the shopping lists provided in the playhouse loft bed and storage stairs plan, I needed one more sheet of 4'x8' MDF to account for the extra width of the full size bed. You can only get one wall out of each sheet.
See attached pdf for the cut list.
Please read through the entire plan and all comments before beginning this project. It is also advisable to review the Getting Started Section. Take all necessary precautions to build safely and smartly. Work on a clean level surface, free of imperfections or debris. Always use straight boards. Check for square after each step. Always predrill holes before attaching with screws. Use glue with finish nails for a stronger hold. Wipe excess glue off bare wood for stained projects, as dried glue will not take stain. Be safe, have fun, and ask for help if you need it. Good luck!
I used kreg wood plugs to fill the pocket holes and 80 grit sandpaper to sand them flush to the rails. I also found it easier to cut of a small portion of them so I didn't have to sand so much.
It is always recommended to apply a test coat on a hidden area or scrap piece to ensure color evenness and adhesion. I used primer prior to pain; no wood conditioner needed since I wasn't staining.
