This simple DIY project is a quick way to add curb appeal to your home.  Made from an inexpensive cedar fence picket and house numbers, all you'll need is a saw and some nails to build!

Preparation

Shopping List

1 Cedar Fence picket, 5-1/2" wide x 72" long (can be dog eared)

6" House numbers

Screws for attaching to exterior wall (fastener type will depend on your siding/wall type)

Soil and plants (of course!)

Common Materials
1 1/4 inch finish nails
Cut List

1 - cedar fence picket @ 36" long - back - can be adjusted to fit your house numbers' height

3 - cedar fence pickets @ 4-3/4" long - bottom and sides

1 - cedar fence picket @ 7" - cut to fit, front piece

Cutting Instructions

Use a square and circular saw to make cuts.

Brad Nailer
Power Sander

Instructions

Step 1

Using a brad nailer and 1-1/4" galvanized nails, attach bottom to the back.  You could also use exterior wood screws, 1-1/2" to 2" long.

Step 2

Nail sides to both bottom and back.

Step 3

Cut front piece to fit and nail to sides and bottom.

Step 4

Attach house numbers to the back piece as instructed by house number packaging.

Drill holes in bottom of planter box with drill bits.

Hang planter on exterior wall.
