more closet storage solutions for sliding door closets

I am trying to get more storage into my girls closet - they are 9 and 12 and we are trying to move all the clothes into the closet so they have more space in the room without the dressers - also maybe if they can see all the clothes they won't be such a jumble like they are buried in dresser drawers (hey, mom can hope, right?)

Anyway, I love Ana's storage shelves behind the closet doors, but there isn't room in our space to have doors swing out. They had sliding doors but I took them down and hung a curtain instead so that they could both access at the same time.

I am trying to figure out how to add something in that space in front of the clothes.

What I have in mind so far is something similar to this pantry:

I envision the closet in three parts, the center narrower than the sides. Each girl gets a side and the center is shared for longer hanging dresses and maybe some bins. Then these rotating shelves could mount on either side of that center area so that either girl could swing them out to see her side.

But I have no idea what kind of hardware would work? Hinges I mean, and how to mount it to the floor/ceiling? or to the closet shelving I'm building.

Any ideas?

Thanks!
