My husband has an UGLY Reel to Reel player that was in an uglier cabinet. As soon as I saw this plan I knew we needed to make this to hide all of it's ugliness we just needed to make it a little taller.
We originally made it last week but I forgot to add the extra 5" on the inside pieces, after allowing it to sit for almost a week in our game room we realized it was way bigger then what was needed. Saturday we cut everything back down and in 4 hours it was complete!
Instead of doors we used speaker fabric and added trim to the inside pieces as to have a unified look and to have something to attach the fabric too! Initailly we weren't going to put a door on the front but after a few days I've decided there needs to be one...the speakers are hidden but the Reel to Reel player is still super ugly! :p Now I need to decorate the game room and hopefully it won't be equally as ugly!
Thanks to Ana, Kreg Jig Jr and the corner clamp we were able to laugh our way through the whole thing! I'm so excited to keep building!!
