Please read through the entire plan and all comments before beginning this project. It is also advisable to review the Getting Started Section. Take all necessary precautions to build safely and smartly. Work on a clean level surface, free of imperfections or debris. Always use straight boards. Check for square after each step. Always predrill holes before attaching with screws. Use glue with finish nails for a stronger hold. Wipe excess glue off bare wood for stained projects, as dried glue will not take stain. Be safe, have fun, and ask for help if you need it. Good luck!

Use bed brackets for somethng you can take apart
WOW! I would have loved that bed when I was a kid.
" I used lag screws here to secure the frame together. "
If you use bed brackets in step 4 you can separate the side supports from the bed ends without losing strength.

The roof can be unscrewed from the ends if you have to move it, I think.

Bed brackets, never seen those before in the hardware store
Thanks, my little guy loves it. I didn't know bed brackets existed, that would work great to take it apart if you built the stairs separate. I'll have to remember those for bed #2. Thanks!

bed.brackets
Just adding my 2cents worth... the bed brackets are amazing. my bed when.i was.a teen had them, renting and.moving a lot, they were.perfect. As a 13 yr old i could totally assemble my bed all by myself and 2 decades on and been in constant use it is still solid as and perfect.
