Please read through the entire plan and all comments before beginning this project. It is also advisable to review the Getting Started Section. Take all necessary precautions to build safely and smartly. Work on a clean level surface, free of imperfections or debris. Always use straight boards. Check for square after each step. Always predrill holes before attaching with screws. Use glue with finish nails for a stronger hold. Wipe excess glue off bare wood for stained projects, as dried glue will not take stain. Be safe, have fun, and ask for help if you need it. Good luck!
Instructions
Step 1
Step 2
It is always recommended to apply a test coat on a hidden area or scrap piece to ensure color evenness and adhesion. Use primer or wood conditioner as needed.

Desktop support
I like the adjustable height desk but won't the desktop quickly develop a bow without a crossbeam support? One of the pictures shows a frame under the desktop but the final only shows supports at either end.

Weight
I guess it depends on how much weight you are putting on the desk. If you are using it for a large desktop computer that will stay there, it'd probably bow yes. If you are just using it for a laptop or cup of coffee, you'd probably be fine. Try using the sagulator for it to see, if you know what your expected usage would be.

Standing Height
I'm trying to find a desk to build for my husband's office. He LOVES this one but would rather have it built so that it can be adjusted from sitting height to standing height. Would it be very difficult to adapt the plans?

It depends
What is his comfortable work top height when sitting, and when standing?

Standing height desk
I'm not her husband, but I would also be interested in a solution to this. I like to put the keyboard tray at 42" height, the desk top at maybe 45" and then clamp a VESA monitor stand to the back (or even clamp it to another shelf that's about 50" high so the center of the monitor is about eye level at 62" or 63".

Buy list
I found that I could not get 4 2x6 @ 23 1/2 in long out of the 2x6 - 6foot long board in the buy list other than that the plans were good. And this project made me envy anyone with a kreg jig. It is now on my wish list.

Dimensions?
I feel like the picture increased the dimensions from what is in the plans, is that the case?

Extension?
Hello, I was wondering if there was anyone who could help me with tweeking these plans in order to make it an 8ft X 2ft Table although still only having 2 sawhorses at the end. Thus needing help with how to reinforce the middle section so that it doesn't bend inward at all over time? Thank you in advance for anyhelp.

floor flange
I have a 3/4" all-thread but I am not able to find a floor flange for it. Any ideas where I can find it?

I found my 3/4 floor flange…
I found my 3/4 floor flange at my local hardware store, Home Hardware. Lowes or Home Depot would probably have it too. Most Likely in the Plumbing section :)
