Preparation

3 - 1x3 furring strips, 8 feet long

20 - 1-1/2 long self tapping star bit screws like these, or 1-1/4" brad nails and glue

Cut List

2 - 1x3 @ 72" 

5 - 1x3 @ 16"

Cutting Instructions

Cut the boards by measuring and marking with a square.

Use a circular saw, jigsaw, or a compound miter saw (preferred) to make cuts.

Instructions

Step 1

Mark out the placement of the ladder rungs as shown.

Attach the rungs to the sides with the screws or nails.  Elevate up on scrap wood pieces as shown.

If the screws are splitting the wood, try predrilling holes with a wood drilling bit before screwing.

Finishing Instructions
Preparation Instructions
Over fill all holes with wood filler and let dry. Sand until smooth, refilling holes if necessary.

Remove all sanding residue by vacuuming and then wiping down with a damp, lint free cloth.
Finish Used
For a stained finish, wipe on stain with a paper towel, working in the direction of the wood grain. Use gloves.

For a painted finish, brush on with a paint brush.
