A fleet of 3 wooden boat planters built in the traditional style of a clinker creel boat (Orkney Longliner).

I shrunk the size and dumbed down the plans to fit my skill level.

It was time for our son to move to a big-boy bed! We looked at tons of plans, but none were quite what I wanted. In the end, fish modified plans for Ana White's Camp Loft Bed with Stair. We wanted to make it a bit shorter because we only have 8' ceilings and there is a ceiling fan in the room. We spent about $80 for the lumber and invested in a kreg jig as well. The bed is stained with Minwax Golden Oak. We bought a 10" deep twin-sized foam mattress for the bed - if you are adding a coil mattress and boxspring, the bedside rails would definitely need to be higher.

Our son LOVES it! He is almost three and is easily able to navigate the stairs, which I don't believe will become too "baby-ish" as he grows older. If they do, the steps can easily be removed from the frame without losing structural integrity.

The underbed area has a great "cool" factor - we hang blankets to create forts, and it has become a place our son gravitates to for reading, playing, anything!

We had issues in Baby Goats' closet, which prompted a big closet re-do! Chose to use the plans for the Closet tower, and I LOVE it! You can read more about it here. 

Made these chairs from plans found on the Kerig Jig website. I added the cup holders for convenience and lowered the seats by 2 inches to account for our short legs. Chairs were stained with an outdoor fence treatment that was tinted with a light grey color.

I built matching side tables using Ana's Narrow Cottage End Table plan. I changed the height to suit the arms of my furniture. They fit our tight space and look fantastic with our existing wood pieces. Very easy to build, even the drawers! I used a router to finish the edge on the drawers, to make them stand out a little more. I learned to put my pocket holes on the outside of the drawer, since the back one is in the back, and the front one is covered by the separate drawer front piece. A Kreg jig makes this a very simple project. Also, I sanded my boards before assembly, then did touch-ups before finishing the project.

From a pine tree in the back yard to a great looking crib that will hopefully stay in the family for generations.

We had to take down a pine in the back yard to make room for a barn so I had it milled into lumber for future projects. I was able to get the majority of the lumber I needed from that tree, everything except for the 4x4's and 2x6's. I got what I thought was pine but after staining it I quickly realized that it was not (maybe hemlock?). The grain didnt match at all so I had to track down some new wood and remake the pieces. Boy was that frustrating! I also bothered myself to hide as many fasteners from (finished) view as possible. It made the project a bit more involved but the finished product made it all worth it. 

Just finished up this unique TV console.  Built from reclaimed pallet wood.

Well, this is my first post and my first real project. Bunk beds out of knotty Pine that can be used as single beds when the kids no longer want to share a room. I wasn't willing to spend $1500-$2000 on bunk beds when I knew I could make some myself. So here it is, I would do it a little different if I was too do it again. I know it's not perfect, but I'm proud of it.......always room for improvement.
