So I've finished my first project from Ana's plans – a media storage unit. I decided to paint it instead of staining because I could see the mistakes I made, but I know that it shouldn't look perfect, it should look rustic. Our house is old so I think it suits it just fine.
I haven't sat down to figure out how much I actually spent, but I know it was under $50 and for some reason I still have plenty of lumber leftover. I found some "oops" paint at HD in a colour I'd had in mind for $3 !! Which I will use when I make a matching console for the other side of the TV.
We still have a huuuge big screen tv, which takes up quite a bit of room, but my media consoles will be ready for whenever we downsize to a newer tv.
I add a front panel for the drawer and used the router for the edge – it's a cool tool my hubby just taught me how to use this summer, it's easier to use than I thought! Hopefullly my pictures post okay…

I used the plans for the Rustic Media Storage - I didn't do the design for the front bottom & side bottom panels - the next project I'll get daring.
