I was channel surfing and saw these tv tables that can lock together to create different configurations including a dining room table. They were called "Totally Tables" at HSN. It looks like the investment in the little locks would be the most expensive thing about them. I'd love to see a plan for them since they look really versatile and pretty easy to make.

Install these on the underside of any wood TV tray - way easier and cheaper than making your own. Reviews of those "Totally Tables" aren't very good. 4 wobbly tables locked together us just a bigger wobbly table.
