Ok, after building 2 farmhouse beds for my sons, I would love to do something super feminie for my daughter. Something along the lines of the PB Madeline daybed. http://www.potterybarnkids.com.....v-_-Button

I know it may seem too difficult for anyone to build at home, but if anyone could figure it out it would be Ana :)

The  tricky part is getting the arches for the sides and back PERFECTLY symmetrical so they match. That takes superb jigsaw or router skills or a truckload of sandpaper and wood rasps.. PB's factory uses "CNC" (computer controlled flat-bed saws that can cut a dozen pieces out of a stack of material at one time, and repeat it indefinitely)

The overhanging railings you can do by stacking and gluing thin MD (or plywood, or even extra skinny boards) onto the shaped plywood base, then routing the edges into a rounded profile.

If you brought the rear corners higher than the railing,  that  would make the arch matching less critical.

The fluting and fancy stuff - look where they sell molding in Blue or Orange for all kinds of fun shapes. Hobby stores sell ornate wood appliques to glue on your projects.
