Hi all!
I am looking to build the project table Ana has graciously cracked for us. However, I have several of the Pottery Barn Espresso finish accessories and need the finishes to match.
Anyone try to create this particular finish? I saw a prior post but the finishes on the previous post just look too dark.
TIA!

What you see in photos on the web is not what you will see in your Living room. Do some testing on scrap wood, sanded and treated just like your hand-made things.
PB does their finishes with huge spray guns - you won't be able to get 100% matching because of texture issues. Does it show the grain of the wood, or is it totally opaque like paint?
If it's opaque, take a drawer or other small bit of the furniture to a paint store and have them match the color.Use Floetrol or its version for water-based paints to get a really smooth finish.
If it shows the grain, it is a semi-transparent stain, and General Finishes "Jave" gel stain might be the closest one. A couple of coats of that
OR - stain/paint the PB stuff to match the hand-made pieces?

Thanks for the input. I know that the match won't be exact but I was hoping I could get it close enough with the stain. I will take a piece to my local paint store and see if they can help me match it.

General Finishes has an Espresso finish. I know GF provides the stain for some commercial furniture manufactures.

General Finishes are the best out there.
The gel stain mentioned is "Java" about the darkest stain you can find.
