I was wondering if I could use this plan...

if I have carpeted floors. I am moving into a new house in a 2 months-ish and would like to incorporate as much storage as possible.

If it would work on carpeted floors would there be a special type of castor required?

A wider wheel rolls better on

A wider wheel rolls better on carpet. Nothing special, just look for one that's an inch or inch and a half wide.
