I took up woodworking last summer as a form of stress management and haven't stopped. For my son I have built a train table, toy shelf system, and even a scaled down arcade machine...now it's time to build something for me and my wife.
I am planning a project to build something similar to the Elan Bar Cabinet but I am going to add shallower book shelf and cabinets on each side (for my wife's cook books) so the bar cabinet doors open fully in front of the lower flanking cabinets. This will be mounted against the wall so I have already planned on using furniture grade plywood for the back as opposed to the solid oak they use. The construction doesn't seem too complicated but I am a little nervous about starting this on my own without any input. I couldn't find anything similar to this in my searches so I was hoping it could be a future porject on the site. I absolutely love this site by the way.
