I am looking for a large-ish, creative, simple project for a contest hosted by the place I work. We (place I work) have a scrap lumber yard which generally has all kinds of scrap lumber (all sizes of boards, plywood, particle board, cross ties, landscaping timbers, pallets, etc), but most has nails or nail holes and you never know what or how much you'll be able to find. Usually, you need to make a couple trips to get what you need. It's cheap though....$35 for a truck load.
The contest rules are pretty simple: build anything with a majority of the materials being from the scrap lumber yard. The finished project will be judged on August 28th.
I would appreciate any project links, tips, pointers, advice on any project they think may work. I am not a skilled wood worker, but have some experience and a husband to help me.
