Table chronicles

Inspired by Ana and all you builders, I came up with this table. It's completely made of maple, including solid maple legs I was able to buy. Total cost: about $550 (wood is expensive in Canada; solid hardwood furniture from a store costs a fortune). I worked on it for a few hours on the weekends over 3 months. Stain: General Finishes' waterbased Black Cherry. Top coat: GF's High-Performance Top Coat in satin. Hardest part: Finding straight lumber and edge-joining a solid tabletop is not for beginners! Best part: I think I'm finally over my fear of the router.

Great work joining the boards, I don't think I could pull that off.

And all we can see is the bottom of the table! The view from the top must be absolutely beautiful!

OK, I think I've finally figured out how the brag blog works. Just wish you couldn't see the damaged floor under the table that desperately needs refinishing.
