Toddler Bunk???

I have teensie kids that are old enough to handle a bunk but small enough to fit in toddler beds! (if we could just get them onto the growth chart!)

Does anyone have experience with toddler bunks? We live in military housing and usually have tiny rooms, so I want to take up the least amount of room possible (ceiling fan clearance being my main concern with regular sized bunks)

You know, I don't have experience in building toddler bunks, but my husband and I thought about doing it a few months ago with Ana's plans for toddler beds. Our idea was to build two toddler beds using the same size footboard and headboard. Then you'd just need to pre-drill some holes on the top of one bed on the 4 corners and then on the second bed drill on the bottom of the 4 corners. Insert some metal dowels and connect the two beds on top of each other. Our youngest two are 6 and 2 so our oldest we thought would go on top and our youngest on the bottom. I think this idea will work, though, as long as your kids will be safe on the top. I'd make absolutely sure to add railings to the top. Good luck!
