How to make simple desk legs or base - use with easy desktop plans.
Preparation
For Legs Only
1 - 1x4 @ 4 feet long
2 - 2x4 @ 8 feet long
2 - 1x4 @ 24"
4 - 2x4 @ 26-3/4" (both ends cut at 15 degrees off square BEVEL, ends are parallel to each other, long point to short point measurement)
1 - 2x4 @ 47-1/2" (both ends cut at 15 degrees off square BEVEL, ends are NOT parallel to each other, long point to long point measurement)
Please read through the entire plan and all comments before beginning this project. It is also advisable to review the Getting Started Section. Take all necessary precautions to build safely and smartly. Work on a clean level surface, free of imperfections or debris. Always use straight boards. Check for square after each step. Always predrill holes before attaching with screws. Use glue with finish nails for a stronger hold. Wipe excess glue off bare wood for stained projects, as dried glue will not take stain. Be safe, have fun, and ask for help if you need it. Good luck!
Instructions
Step 1
Step 2
It is always recommended to apply a test coat on a hidden area or scrap piece to ensure color evenness and adhesion. Use primer or wood conditioner as needed.

Pocket holes
I spent way too much time tonight correcting my Kreg jig mistakes. Probably new user errors on my end, but can you clarify where you put your pocket holes on these legs? I set my jig to 1 1/2", and used 2 1/2" screws as recommended. Every one of them came through the other side of the connection. Very frustrating!

Fixed
Just to follow up, I found my error, and ended up going with 2" screw instead. It worked out. I'll post a pic of the final product soon. Looks great!

URL Error
I am trying to build this desk, but the desktop plans URL doesn't work. Please let me know if there is any other way to find them besides the link above!
