I am a retired Registered Nurse living in Wisconsin. I am married to an Internal medicine physician who I might add has not retired and I not sure I will be able to get him to retire anytime soon. I have three grown children and two grandchildren. My oldest son is an industrial welder, married with two children. He loves spending time with his family, working on his house and going camping. My oldest daughter is a physician completing her residency program in Internal medicine and wants to study another two years or three years after that to become an oncologist. She apparently loves studying. She is a Captain in the Air Force as well and of course with all the conflicts in the Middle East, I worry a lot about her.
My youngest daughter lives at home and is both physically and cognitively challenged. She had a tough time as a newborn with a collapsed airway requiring surgery and as a result suffered lack of oxygen. She is a very nice girl who loves music, watching Mom and Dad and going out and about around town or as her therapist says, "she likes going anywhere as long as she going."
My hobbies have always been sewing, reading and horse back riding. I became interested in woodworking about eight years ago, although,I have never made anything at all. Oh, I have read books on cabinet making, 2 x4 furniture, outdoor furniture plans and even bought a drill, jigsaw, scroll saw and miter saw. However, each plan I looked at required more tools; planers, joiners, table saws, drill press, etc., so I never made anything.
I am just thrilled to find this website, I think I can finally make something with Ana's great plans. My Grand-daughter asked for an American Girl Doll this year for Christmas, so I will be hopefully making some of the doll furniture on this website, along with the shoe shelves for my oldest daughter who only seems to buy shoes and not the rest of the outfit. My son and his wife really need the laundry basket organizer more than anyone I know besides myself. My Grandson who is only four (and I think an inspires to be a chef) loves making cake mixes with grandma, so once I become braver, I am hopeful that I can make him the kitchen set.
Thank You so much Ana for the gift of this website. I have been on it everyday for the past week. I have enjoyed seeing your beautiful work and plans and along with everyone else's work has given me the confidence to finally try woodworking.
