Other than using spell-check , any tips for stenciling? I'm doing the rolling cubby bench, painted, and would love to stencil something on the seat. My last attempt at stenciling seriously blew, so I'm sure I'm doing something wrong!
You'll want to temporarily adhere the stencil to the project, using either a temporary spray adhesive under the entire stencil, or painters/masking tape on the outside. Then use a very small amount of paint on a round brush and just pounce it up and down where you want to stencil. Let it dry for a bit, remove the stencil, repeat as needed. Very basic instructions. And I just found this link that goes a bit further in depth, but looks easy to understand.
Do you have to stencil? I gave up on stenciling and started using carbon paper to trace then paint in the lines. I found that to be easier. Probably more time consuming, but it was cleaner.
when i stencil i use adhesive vinyl. I cut it out with my Silhouette but you can cut it out by hand too, it sticks to paint then peels right away with no residue left. Works great!

Thanks so much, that really helped me figure out what I was doing wrong last time! Hopefully, I'll do a better job with this one ;)
